A walk in nature walks the soul back home, Mary Davis

1. Description

Discover a shorter, yet equally breathtaking version of the famous Palia Strata route, perfect for those seeking a scenic and manageable hike. Starting from the charming Asfondylitis village, an abandoned settlement with traditional dry-stone houses and wells, this trail takes you along a historic path that winds across the mountain crest at 350–400 meters altitude.

Along the way, you’ll pass Kapsala, where monks once lived in natural caves, and reach the highlight of the hike: the iconic Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa, the second oldest monastery in Greece, clinging dramatically to the cliffs above the sea. The route concludes in the picturesque Chora, the capital of Amorgos, offering the perfect spot to relax and soak in the island’s unique charm.

Led by our experienced guides, this hike combines history, culture, and stunning views, making it an unforgettable experience for both seasoned hikers and those trying their first mountain trail.
